Mike the real "Gingerbread Boy"
Hi Everyone! Mike started out at a very early age creating his Gingerbread houses. That was Mike the Gingerbread Boy 19 years ago in grade seven creating his first Gingerbread House by the smile on his face I think he ate a lot of the candy. Yes he was a mere Gingerbread boy back then now he is still our Gingerbread Boy.
Big Town Hall from Small Town Ontario
I can't get over the effort that people have put into making their houses. And effort that has paid off, because they are all pretty amazing!! Thanks to Mike for getting this altogether, it is such a great idea.
It's a Christmas tradition to have my girlfriends over to make gingerbread houses, so they agreed to help create a small gingerbread village over some wine and hot tub! The actual entrance piece to the competition is the town hall. It's almost midnight here in Eastern Ontario, but I'm on Eastern Standard time, so I've still got a two hour cushion before the deadline... right??
Merry Christmas Everyone!!
Krys (blue hoodie in photo)
Schitta, Pregna & Kyalotta have entered their bid!!
Hi everyone. I've included some pictures...the first couple are of the winning Gingerbread House and the last pictures are for sympathy votes. You see, Schitta and Pregna are 'special' people with 'special' needs. After looking at the pictures, we're hoping you better understand our shortcomings and adjust your votes accordingly. The name of our Gingerbread House...actually comes from Kryalotta (our little girl with 'Sugar & Spice') as the production of this piece of artwork was slowed incredibly because of a #&*!%ing teething issue we're currently facing in our little house of love.
Anyway...Merry Christmas everyone and all the best in 2007.

Team Sicamous (Ralph & Lynn)
Seasons Greetings from Sicamous! Welcome to all the new Gingerbread competitors everyone has done a awesome job on their gingerbread creations. We had a lot of fun as well as a bit of frustration at times but as from the words of the Great Gingerbread Master "Patience Little Ones" I know you were all inspired as we were by the Great Gingerbread Master. We only wish he was here so we could have wrapped our Gingerbread dough hands around his neck haha. We hope everyone had a great time as we did and have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to doing it again next year. (We are going to start ours now!!!)
Jam Cabins Reach New Heights
Well....You could say the Jam Cabins are " Dancing with the Stars" tonight. We have created, beyond our wildest dreams, a Gingerbread Tree House. We have elevated our status to that of the masters. The Tree House is supported on 3 columns of bag et bread and a spiral pretzel staircase leads visitors to the nome home. It looks as though we may be in for some stiff competition this year. We had lots of laughs doing this again. We hope everyone has a great festive season and best wishes for 07. Jim and Diane.
Team Double D (Danielle and Ashley)
After many nights baking gingerbread and trying to get the icing colour right we managed to finish the house. Now I've heard relationships can be ruined over this and there were a few times Ashley called me incompetent but I got over it and we're still speaking. We thought we should name the house so we have titled it "Mission Impossible". Hope everyone has a great Christmas and eats more than they should, that really is what Christmas is all about. Danielle and Ashley
TEAM ( YOUNG AND FITZ) OF SHERWOOD FOREST...
On behalf of team Young and Fitz we would like to thank all of you for entering the competition. I hope everyone had a ton of fun and no relationships were ruined because of it. Unfortunately, the better half of Team Young and Fitz had to fly home to Ontario before the gingerbread was finished. I am sure it would have been even better if she was around to help. Good thing she had a Gingerbread BOY on her team. Have a great Christmas.
P.S.- I hate to admit this but I actually bought this from Jenny and Drew. They said that it was not good enough for this years stiff competition. I'm such a loser.
The Lawrence Family English Christmas
Hi everyone this is my families gingerbread house entry. Some people say that I couldn't have done this all by myself, and they are right. My mom and dad helped a little. After numerous attempts to help this is what happens. I sure hope that everyone enjoys our house as much as I do (AND BAILEY). Merry Christmas everyone. I Love my Uncle Mike , I can't wait for my Mom to tell me bed time stories about how great he is...... He is the greatest Gingerbread BOY Ever. Uncle Mike Rocks. I just dont get how my house is better than his and i'm only 10 months old.
Bryanna finishes with only minor injuries
Hi everyone,
After many set backs, and a few runs to the grocery store, we finally finished our gingerbead masterpiece. As a result, I have several burns that have now turned to blisters on my fingers from using my "secret glue".....ouch. Anyways, everyone's sculptures look great so far, can't wait to see more. Warning...watch for dogs, they tend to like the taste of gingerbread, right Jenny!!!!
Team Brenda (Brooke and Kendra)
Ok, now for those of you who are wondering if this is an actual picture of the North Pole...well pick your jaws up off the floor because it isn't...but I do see the resemblance...it is ACTUALLY our gingerbread house. I know, those of you who have not completed yours yet have probably just put down your icing sugar and jelly beans...because there is NO competition...hehehehe
best of luck to all you teams, we are looking forward to seeing the entries (and how high Jenny can make hers...as I hear...it is growing a foot every day) :)
Merry Christmas to you and yours

SHOCKING NEWS
After searching the the national gingerbread archives, it has been found that there is a fraud amongst us. The so called Gingerbread Master is not a master at all. His application was rejected for the reason of, and I quote "Never winning a gingerbread contest EVER!!!". In fact they archives also had allegations about his knock off books. They are compiled of old magazine articles, the page numbers don't even work. They told me that there is a Cece and desist order on all work and publications of this man. So beware of the so called "Gingerbread Master".
From now on he shall be called "The Gingerbread Boy".

Gingerbread Fishin Shack
Hi Everyone :)
So, none of you know me (black sweater)...well, except Mike. Here's our entry for the 2006 Gingerbread Competition. We went a little abstract and decided that a fishing shack would be more appropriate (ok, so maybe it's b/c our foreman (blue shirt) couldn't figure out how to peak our roof). Regardless, it took a few bottles of wine but we finally emerged with this delux, double-hole fishing shack complete with a garage door (notice the angle of the wall-turned-door in the picture to the right). Thanks for inviting us to compete Mike ... though I'm sorry if our entry intimidates others ; ). Have a great holiday everyone!
Jam Cabins seek advice from Master Baker
Sunday started out as a wonderful day! The sun was out and the snow was sparkling on the fields as the Jam Cabins prepared to create what would later be known as the obvious winner. The ingedients were carefully measured , the design drawings were before us and christmas carols played gloriously in the background. The hot pressed apple juice with cinamin(sp) sticks were sipped as we soothingly prepared our dough. "How come this dough so hard, I can hardly stir it". "It was your idea to use this recipe and were not starting over". " I knew we should of kept last years recipe because this one sucks"....." We're supposed to be enjoying this". How can we enjoy this when the &*%$#%& dough so hard, it crumbles when I roll it". " I've had it!!!! You've had it!!!!!" Well so have I". Hopefully, Jam Cabins get back on track because right now they are pretty much derailed and time is running out. Maybe they should call the Master Baker and ask for advice.
Dearest Jam Cabins: As author of New Yew Times Bestseller " Gingerbread And Its Effects On Relationships", and an all around great guy. I would like to give my deepest regards to the unfortunate circumstances that have happend this past weekend. Unfortunetly, I am not going to be able to save your marriage. But... I can surely help you with that gingerbread problem you've been having.
Solution 1: Having coffee the other day with Martha Stewart, I asked her about her amateur gingerbreads and she told me her solution was simple..... She goes to her local pastry chef and buys her gingerbread. Thats right Martha's a fake... Biatch
Solution 2: Leaving Martha's house early this morning after a night of MasterBaking I came up with another idea... It sounds like your dough is too dry and it lacks the moisture it needs to stop it from cracking. My suggestion would be to read my book " Zen And The Art Of The Gingerbread Master" Chapter 13 : So You Think You Can Roll: and also Chapter 19 : Is There Life After Gingerbread". I am sure this will help you in your journey of becoming a great Gingerbread Master like myself. Good Luck
Gingerbread Master

BC Cancer Foundation
Team Bryanna (Bryce and Lanna) have decided to give money to the BC Cancer Foundation. We have participated in a local adventure race in Vancouver over the past two years, and one of the main volunteers, Jordy, has a mother who has been diagnosed with a Stage 3 ovarian tumor. He has been trying to raise money to help with all the costs of medicine and travel as she does not have comprehensive medical insurance. In November, Jordy did a fundraiser called "Grind cancer away on Grouse Mountain" to help raise money for his mother's treatment. If any of you are interested in donating to Jordy's cause, go to the following internet website: http://www.ecospirit.ca/grindcanceraway.htm
